Application Instructions
Ensure wraps and nails are at room temperature before application. In cold conditions, the wraps may feel rigid and non-sticky. If this is the case, warm wraps slightly in your hands first.
Before you start, prepare your nails by filing to shape, removing excess cuticle from the nail plate and cleaning to remove excess oils and dirt. If using a soap product to clean your nails ensure it is free from moisturiser.
1) Remove sheet from packaging. Select the wrap that best matches your nail size. It should be slightly smaller than your nail to ensure that it doesnot sit on your cuticle area of skin. A wrap that is not a good fit may not form a tight seal and allow water and dirt to get trapped underneath.
2) Remove the clear protective film from the top of the wrap and then carefully peel the wrap from the backing paper. If you have short nails you may want to cut the wrap in half before removing from the backing strip so that you can use one piece for 2 nails.
3) Position the wrap at the cuticle end of your nail (ensuring that it doesnot touch the cuticle). Don't worry if you don't get the position right the first time! You can carefully lift and reposition as long as you haven't pressed it down fully onto your nail!
4) Smooth the wrap onto the nail from cuticle to tip and then side to side with your thumb or finger, easing out any bubbles or wrinkles. You can use an orange stick or a hoof pusher to help push down the edge to seal it too.
5) Using a fine grit file, gently file off the excess in a downwards motion at a 90 degree angle. Press around all edges again to ensure they are all sealed.
And you're done!
You can now add a clear polish top coat or gel top coat for extra shine and protection. Please check the compatibility of your top coat first on a piece of unused wrap. We like CND Vinylux and Sally Hansen Mega Shine.
For best results, wait 6-8 hours before soaking hands in hot water eg showering or dishwashing (even with gloves), to allow the adhesive to fully cure. Washing hands is fine though! We like to apply ours before bed and we are ready to rock it the following day!
Wraps not the right size or shape for your nails? No problem, they are easy to trim to size with scissors before application (you can also use cuticle nippers to trim once on the nails).
Removal of Wraps
DO NOT JUST PULL WRAPS OFF! You could damage your nail plate by doing so. There are a number of methods you can use to gently remove them.
1) Soak a ball of cotton wool in nail polish remover. Hold on the nail for a few moments to allow it to soak in. Swipe off the wrap. Repeat if necessary.
Or
2) Break the seal at the edge with your orange stick. Using a brush, hoof stick or cotton bud/Q-tip, work nail polish remover under the wrap until it pops off. Always work gently to avoid nail damage. You can also use lemon or orange essential oil in this step too.
TOP TIPS
If you are going to be using sun cream or bug spray it is advisable to add a top coat as these are know to affect the surface of the wraps.
Want to trim down a wrap to match another? Lay it on the white paper backing and use as a template.
Want to use a wrap but it isn't big enough? Try turning it sideways.
